I slept in, being waken up by Blizzard getting up early and moving things. I am not in a hurry today. I agreed with Cheetah and Mouse and their group back in Pinedale to meet up at the trailhead at Green River Lake campground today. They hitched into Pinedale from Elkhart trailhead, which is 40 miles before Green River Lakes and got a drive back to the trailhead yesterday early morning. So I assume they would arrive here in the later afternoon. But due to the heavy thunderstorm last night, and this morning being super foggy and wet, I am not sure if they set camp early yesterday evening and only started hiking late this morning. Here at this campground there is no cellphone service, no chance for me to contact them. I would have to hitch all the way back close to Pinedale to get service, which is not worth it. I am a little nervous to miss them. There are also two trails, left or right around the lake and I have no clue which trail they will take. It could also be that they will only make it here tomorrow morning. I wish I had a garmin in reach, so I could communicate with them. Luckily the group has binoculars and I keep on checking every hiker passing the trail. In the meantime I also get lessons by rigor and Erich how to use a Lasso!😁

Shortly after 4pm I see some hikers and I feel like this could be Cheetah and the group. So I run from the cabin the 0.5 miles to the trailhead, hoping nit to miss them. I catch them filtering water! I am so glad I didn't miss them! I go back to the cabin to pack up and say goodbye, while we agree to meet 2 miles later at a creek to have dinner. As always, goodbye aren't easy and going back to trail after having such a wonderful time also ain't. The group prepares a big bag of cut homemade pastrami and two beers which I pack out😋 thank you again so much for the wonderful time I had and your hospitality. Memories and people I will not forget and what makes the trail so unique and special!

I hiked out on my on and met up with Cheetah, Mouse and Aron at the river. I packed out the beers and pastrami, which we all much enjoyed! What a treat on trail😀 we only hiked on 1.2 more miles up to hill, where we pitched our camps and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

Tomorrow we will hike out early, but as we only want to be in Dubois on Saturday, two days from now, we are not in a rush. It's only 50 miles from here to go. I put all my smelly products and food in my odor proof bag and the ursack and tied it around a tree further away. Becoming better at this!
