Pie Town

We got up very early and arrived in Pie Town at 8.00 am. As we first reached the Toaster House before the Post office, I checked for the boxes. And they are all here, except for Tiempo's box, which must be at the Post office. Also Kate and Peter from the Czech Republic are here! We haven't seen them since Doc Campbell's. And many more hikers, some I know, others I don't know yet. This place is full of hikers. Fuck it from France is here, I have met him just when I arrived in Lordsburg and got off the bus. He was sitting on the pavement in the shade infront of Mcdonald's. He is here since 9 days, recovering from bad shin splints.
Anita, the owner of this places, takes us for a ride to show the continental-sized Telescope here in Pie Town. Then she takes us to her place and hands us here car!
We wait till the rest of our group arrives and take the car out for lunch in the early afternoon. 9 hikers we easily fit in the car, which for sure is not allowed in Switzerland! The restaurant is just down the road, Nita said. It takes us more than 30 minutes to get there! We pass by some cows and a cattle trough and automatically I see it as a water source🤣 I order a T-Bone steak for 26 Dollars, however it is not the best one I ever had. Plus a huge Margaritha😁 Feeling much better now! Also we pack out some drinks and beer for later.
Late in the evening (9pm), Nita comes by with 6 or 7 bottles of Tequila. Most hikers are already in bed, there is only a couple of us still out. And there goes the Tequila tasting (after already been drinking for a while!), aligned with many funny stories from Nita. It was a fun evening and I got in my tent only late at night. That's ok, tomorrow we stay here, so I can relax more😁
