We got a ride back to wolf creek pass around noon. It was a beautiful day and it was the first day in Colorado I was hot in my shorts hiking! It was soon nice. The stretch was beautiful with some uphill hikes. I packed out 1 L of wine, which we didn't drink while in Pagosa Springs and food for 6.5 days. My pack was super heavy. Something between 15 kg and 18 kg I would assume. There was snow and slowdowns, but never as bad as the last couple of days. We hiked 9 miles to a little lake, and set camp early around 5.30 pm. I was done. My back hurted from my backpack and I had to stop several times at the uphill hikes for a little break. Yes we are also back at the altitude between 3'300 and 3'500 meters. And I did scratch my legs bloody several times at one of the blowdowns. They are sharp as glass!
Just when we finished our dinner and started to enjoy the wine also PlusOne and Dogbite turned up. What a lovely surprise! I never thought I will see them that soon again. It has been a couple of day when we last seen them. We enjoyed the evening together and finished all the wine (Patches also carried out 1.5L of wine and he drank a lot!😁) Good night then!
