We got up super early this morning, as we have to hike 29 miles to get to the next designated campsite. Mouse and me started hiking around 6am. It was a beautiful morning, still brisk but not freezing cold. The fog above the lake made it very mystical. We hiked along the beach for a mile or two, enjoying this amazing views with the sun rising behind us. And a little later we reached witch river, a hot spring river with about 90 degrees fahrenheit. Cheetah and Captain were already in, so Mouse and I jumped in too at 7am and enjoyed this natural beauty. What a start into the day on trail, with a hot bath😁 as we hiked on we run into more southbounder's and passed the first geysers. At 10am we stopped for a break and just hiked about 10 miles. 10 by 10 as we call it. And Mouse got her sock back she lost on trail two days ago! Incredible! A CDT hiker must have picked it up and passed without seeing us and left the sock with a note at the parking lot. Mouse is super happy, as she only had one pair of socks for hiking left. We hiked on 6 more miles and had lunch at the beautiful Shoshone lake together with Spice, Smoothie, Veggie and Karma. So far we progressed very well, did a good amount of hiking till lunch, 15 miles by then and even had a hot bath in the morning! In the afternoon we run into 'Otter', whom I seen last in the Wind River Range. Together we hike on and make an afternoon break at the lake side again to jump into the lake. We are very clean today🤣 but it doesn't help much, as shortly after we have to hike through a bob, our feet soaking into to grass and mud. First, I tried to hike around it, but gave up shortly later. There was no way to keep your feet dry and clean! And then we passed through a very nice and mystical area, with many small geysers and the air filled with sulphur. An alien alike landscapes, very cool! We reached our campsite in the evening, the weather has changed and it is cloudy. Looks like rain soon. And since two or three days we are surrounded and attacked again by thousands of mosquito's. I have to put on my rain gear to pitch my tent, still have been bitten about a 100 of times. My legs are full of mosquito bites! By the time we went to bed there is a huge group of us again. It's us 4 and Spice, Smoothie, Karma, Veggie, Otter and Chester. Due to the clouds the temperature doesn't drop much and I am super hot this night, what a change from the last two cold nights!
