Day 115: Seiad Valley - ⛺ @ mile 1'679.3

Date: 31.07.2018 Miles hiked today: 22.6 miles / 36.37 km Total Mileage: Mile 1'679.3 I got up early as planned and together with Dirty Money I'm back on trail shortly before 6am. The 10 miles uphill starts gentle and it's a nice hike. Specially because I hike the uphill with Dirty Money and we chat all the way. I don't notice how long we already hike or how steep it really is until the last 2 or 3 miles become very steep. There is a water source with nice and cold water but it's only dripping and we need some patience to fill up 1 liter of water. My body is still sore from yesterday and I do feel exhausted. I'm happy when the big uphill is done. It's still smoky but not as bad as down in the valley. A couple of miles later we break for lunch for more than 2 hours, including a nap. Ready for the afternoon we start hiking again. But my energy is gone after 5 minutes hiking, haha! I'm more than happy that we stop at the next water source and decide to only hike a couple of more miles before we set camp. We make it a short day today, but it feels like a long one for me. At that last water source for today I fill up all my bottles and also wash my legs, arms and face as good as I can. Around 6pm we finally arrive at the camp spot, pitch our tents and cook dinner. By the time I'm ready for bed, which is 7pm!, I'm so tired and done, Sausage and Blue Man arrive. A couple of minutes later also Flame hikes in, telling us that Sparkles is ahead. But that can't be?! If she has passes us we would have seen her and I have not seen her all day. She must have camped somewhere in the woods behind us. But where is Dirty Money? Just when I close my eyes she arrives too. It's not that late yet, I'm just in bed really early. Tomorrow is our last day in California and we shall finally cross the boarder to Oregon, how exciting!!! Finally it's supposed to flatten out then for a while :)
