Day 54: ⛺@ mile 734.4 - Lone Pine

Day: 31.05.2018 Miles hiked today: 20 miles (16 pct miles + 4 off trail miles) Total Mileage: Mile 750.2

I hike with Jason and Hauser but everyone kind of does his own thing and we keep bumping into each other during the day. Jason camped a mile or two behind Hauser and me. I got up early to see the sun rise which was absolutely beautiful. I had it all for me but then also felt a little lonely. You feel so small in this wilderness, upon a mountain above 3'000 hm. Its very windy and cold and when I returned to our camp Hauser got out of his hammock said he hardly slept because it was so cold and windy. While getting ready Jason hiked along. We wanna make it to Lone Pine today so we better keep going. But my feet hurt teribly in my new shoes so have to stopp after 5 miles in, lay down and pull them upon a log. Jason is already far ahead but Hauser passes by and i hike  with him for a couple of miles before i walk on when he takes a short break.

I can feel the high altitute which slows me down a lot. Along the way i pump into a couple while checking my blisters. The girl looks at my feet and knows the pain i am in. she has some really good Band aids with cooling gel in them. They feel wonderful, my blisters dont hurt that much anymore. I definitely need to get some of these in Lone Pine!

At the water source Hauser catches up and suddently there is also Jason. He was reading behind some trees and heard our voices. We agree to have lunch before going down the pass to lone pine. but when i arrive there no one is there. I've just Seen Hauser a Minute ago while I was taking some pictures. Where has he gone? Did he take the wrong way? I called him but no answer. So I started to hike down the pass. I hope I will meet him down at the campground where we hopefully will get a ride to lone pine. It's a 4 miles downhill hike but when I reach the campground Hauser is not there. I walk to the street and hope to get a ride down. This is a death end street so there arent so many cars driving by. After waiting die about 20 minutes Daddy, another thru hiker,  turns up and shortly after him Jason appears. We were lucky shortly after that a car drove by and bring us down to lone pine. It's about a 40 minutes drive down a pass street back to the desert. I didnt realize we were that high up! In lone pine we bumbed into Hauser who got a ride before us. First things is to get food. Mexican is always a good Choice. Joanne and her siblings didn't snow up yet so we get a hotelroom. Im so tired I just wanna fall into bed. So I did.

All down there i have to hike off the oft to get to lone pine

First snow i encounter!
