Day 50: Nero day in Kennedy Meadows

Day: 27.05.2018Miles hiked today: 2 miles Total Mileage: Mile 702.4 Today is a lazy Sunday day. We got up for breakfast and decided to slackpack the 2 miles of the trail we missed when arriving here. Wanna make sure we don't miss a single mile. The only issue with thus is that it is about a 3 mile hike back to the PCT trail, then 2 miles on the PCT and about another 2 miles off the pct again to reach the general store in Kennedy Meadows. We opted for a ride as close as possible to the trail and were lucky. A guy picked us up and drove us straight back to the trail, as close as you can get, even taking us on the dirt road. That was awesome. 3 miles less to hike! The 2 miles were easy to hike and without a backpack on we walked fast without really noticing it. I hiked with my towndress and my new shoes :) my new shoes fit very well with my towndress and my garmin watch :). Also, they seem really good and I hope they work fine for me in the next couple of weeks. We completed the 2 miles and back on the street we got another ride to the general store. That's so great! At the general store we checked out their camping area. Doesn't really look better than where we stay but it is much more crowed by thru hikers. We grabed some beers and relaxed on the balcony there. New hikers are being welcomed by everyone clapping their hands. The atmosphere is great here. The sun is out and we keep sitting and sitting and sitting there. Around 5pm the weather changed and just when the first train drops fall we catched a ride back to Grumpy Bears in the back of a tiny little jeep! After all the sitting and relaxing and drinking beer we are really tired and go to bed early! Ahh what a hard live :)
