Day 38: ⛺ @ mile 545.1 - Tehachapi

Day: 15.05.2018 Miles hiked today: 13.4 miles Total Mileage: Mile 558.5 What a nice feeling. Because we did some extra miles last night we don't have to get up that early today. We still started hiking at 6am as the first section of today is a 2400 feet climb. Up the hill was some trail magic with food and water and a seating area with a sun umbrella. Sadly most of the food is gone, only the empty trash of a cake was left. But still a very nice spot. We also met chunky monkey up there from Austria. He did the pct last year but because of the high snow he couldn't complete it and is now hiking it all over again! He informed us that we only have to hike 9.5 miles more for Tehachapi as the other road is a freeway and very hard to get hitches from. We are not moaning about this change even so that means we have to hike these miles later on. Fully motivated we continue the downhill hike to the street through all the wind mills. It is a very nice day and the desert is blooming. The West side of the hills are always much more green than the east side due to the Pacific Ocean. There are flowers in any colour all over. Reaching the street it turned our that it is also not that easy to get a hitch. We must have tried for about an hour until a car stopped for us three girls. First still of course is food! Pop tarts (Florian), another swiss guy, texted us if we wanted to stay in their room at the best Western. 20 USD per night including breakfast, hot top and pool. What a deal! When we arrived there we found out that 10 of us suppose to stay in that room with two double beds, a sleep sofa and two pull out chairs. Not so sure about it any more. Later even more hiker joined and we decided to get out own room even so this is much more expensive. I am really tired from the last two days and urgently need my rest.
