Day 10: Little River Tent Site @ mile 134.8

Day: 17.04.2018

Miles hiked today: 20 miles

Total Mileage: 134.8

Joanne and me both didn't hear the alarm this morning. We actually agreed to get up at 5:30am the night before but we were still in our tents by 6 am. I woke up and in panic,  run over to Joanne's tent to wake hear up and hurry!

I slept horribly but I never sleep very well in my tent. My tent is really big and my little matress always moves around because there is so much space. I try to put all my stuff around me so I can't move that much but there is not that much I carry. I use my foodbag for my feed and my clothbag as my cushion (I ditched my real cushion a while ago). But this night it was also freezing! I was so cold wearing already most of my cloths and was too tired and cold to get out of my sleeping bag to add my rain pants at night. I kept on shivering. My sleeping bag was wet this morning because of the high moisture this night. But I was not alone freezing tonight. Mostly everybody said they were really cold at night and that also their sleeping bags and tents are slightly wet.

We finally hit the trail by about 7:30am. We planned to hike to mile 132 which is about 17 miles. The trail mainly was uphill and only the very last section was downhill.  I anyway prefer uphill than downhill with a 15-18 kg backpack on. We made it to mikes place (a trailangel offering water, and some space to hang out at his house) at 14:30. We stayed there for a little longer than half an hour,  refilled our bottles, put our feed up and  enjoyed the sun. It's only a couple miles more and one uphill and one downhill hilr to the campsite. But then the next day we would like to reach paradise valley cafe which is a 20 miles hike then.  Hence, we decided to hike a couple of miles more so we would only have a 17 miles hike tomorrow. The last miles were killing me. It was only downhill but quite steep for the pct and uneven with loads of rocks on the trail so you carefully had to watch to not twist your food or ankle. I stumbeled the last miles to the Tentsite.  We put on loud music to make the time (and hence the miles) flying by faster! Finally we made it and hey congrats to us this is already our second 20 miles hike day! We are rocking' it girl!!!

Only a little later some other hikers arrived. Hauser la forge, Paul and Jason came along. They looked much better than I did.  I really suffered and while not moving I get stiff really fast. Making our dinner the fuel run out. We still have 3-4 night ahead of us win no possibility to buy new fuel, how do we do now?? Luckily Hauser offered us his fuel as he is not going to cook until idyllwild. We did not reject this offer. In return we offered hot chocolate, a footprint and funions :) as we plan tl stay togehter till idyllwild we can still help each other out. After eating i sneaked in my tent and called it a day.
