Camping at: Motel in Salida

I didn't sleep well at all tonight. The blank beds very comfy, but onedquydwas snoring so that the whole house was moving. No chance for me to find some rest! I am super tired this morning and just wanna go back to bed. It is raining like hell. My plan was to hitch to Salida as early as possible, to get all the chores done before lunch and then just rest and may get some sleep, but to get a hitch in pooring rain is not fun and for sure not easy. So we wait. And wait. By noon the rain finally stopped. Boss, Patches and me left the Butterfly House to get a hitch at the road. And again we waited and waited and waited. It has taken us more than 1 hour to get a hitch. That was probably the longest time it ever took me to get a hitch. But finally we could hop on the back of a Pickup from a nice lady. She drove us straight to Walmart, where we did our resupplies. In the meantime the weather has changed and it is quite hot outside. I am still wearing my raincoat and -pants and my warm jumper plus the puffy jacket. At Walmart one of the workers there saw me and said: 'Girl, you makin' me hot!'😁 I am sweating! Carrying the full pack and three bags of resupplies in my hands, walking a mile to the hotel, I am dying of heat! While I quickly stop to take of the puffy at least, the guys hike on, a car stops asking me where I have to go. Sadly he has to go the other direction, so I move on, not very motivated... but then the car turns around and suddenly pulls over next to me! I hop on to the back of the Pick up and he drives me all the way to the hotel, passing Patches and Boss😁 that was awesome! The Piper and Dustman are here too! Patches has booked a room at another Hotel together with the K2's, cause our Hotel was fully booked by the time Patches wanted to get a room. The K2's went to Gunnison yesterday to visit Kite's brother but are already in town now. However, it turns out there was a big missunderstanding and suddenly Patches and the K2'sfshow up at our Hotel. While Patches thought the K2's booked a room, the K2's thought Patches booked a room🙈! As both Boss and me have a double room, it worked out well at the end. Patches stays with Boss and the K2's share a room with me. I'm totally fine with that cause then we can split the costs. This Hotel is awesome cause it has a hot tub, very good wifi and free bikes! So we all get a bike and drive to a nepalese restaurant for dinner and thereafter to a cool Brewery. Walking it would have taken us hours but with the bikes it's so much faster and more fun to get around town. In the meantime we found out that the Post Office is closed tomorrow due to a public holiday. I gotta go to the Post Office as my new tent should have arrived (I have bought PlusOne's and Dogbite's Duplex tent, the same I have, but hardly used. So I don't have problems with the zippers anymore and keeping the mozzie's out, plus they sold it to me to a very fair price) and the K2's have send their food by mail. Guess we have to stay one more night then!
